Re: Tool "Flood" (1993)

That was great! I'm a big fan of theirs too. Chancellor is no slouch, but I really dig D'Amour. Plus it's always nice to see a CS getting played instead of hanging on somebody's wall.

And what a beautiful setting for a concert as well!

Re: Peter Buck on Ric bass

I dig REM, but I'm not like a superfan or anything, so I never caught them that far back. I did see them later on though.

Found the pic. Please ignore my oversized glasses. This was 1993.

Re: Peter Buck on Ric bass

I actually had the opportunity to record with one of Mills' old Rick basses back int he early 90s. He has sold it to the owner of the studio I was recording in at the time. Mills had done the Bartolini/Hipshot mod to it, but it was fun to play. I posted a pic of it here years ago...

Re: Rickenbacker the latest rage with the kids?

Back in 1986, at the ripe old age of 16, I cashed in a $200 savings bond from my aunt to get a '74 4001. It was my first "real" bass & I had been lusting after a Rick for some time. I was a dream come true & I still have it!

Rush Classic Albums 2112/Moving Pictures DVD

Apologies in advance if this has been posted already (I find it hard to believe that it hasn't been!), but has anyone checked out the new Rush Classic Albums 2112/Moving Pictures DVD yet? It's another installment in the fantastic Classic Albums series that VH1 Classic airs periodically. In all of th...

Re: just stumbled upon Teenage Fanclub

For some reason their record "Thirteen" gets no love, but it's my fave by far.

Love those guys. One of the best live shows I've ever seen. So much fun.

Re: RUSH Documentary... interesting gallery pic

That pic has been posted here before. Such an awesome shot! I'm partial because not only am I a Geddy fan, but I also have a bass identical to that one! I've been singing the praises of the 3001 for years now. The secret may be out.... I think I read somewhere that shot was actually taken at a sound...

Re: Bass Fuzz

Nice! Yeah, my original intention was to use the VT for a distortion, but I've found such a sweet spot in between the B-15 setting & the SVT setting (sort of a "fat tube" thing) that I've bypassed the tube preamp on my head & use the VT as a full time tone shaper. Now I can't belie...
