Thank you for the information. There are definitly two different types of pots. I will try to post a picture of them here, and I appreciate any information you guys have on them. The CTS pots are the volume pots and they date 1971. The date code is on the sides of the pots and hard to read in the ...

Cool. My 4001 has the regular non checkered binding. It's a maple glow and I will have to post some pictures soon.

Original 4001 Potentiometers in 1973
I am just curious if anyone knows which Potentiometers were used in the 4001 in 1973. I lifted the pick guard up off of my 1973 Rickenbacker 4001 and I noticed 2 pots were CTS dated 1971, but the other two I could not identify. They were marked 303456 6706. I kind of expected to see all CTS pots. Is ...

I appreciate the information. My 4001 is a "MH", which I understand to be a August 1973.
I have really enjoyed this bass, and I would really like to restore it back to the original specks (or as close as practical).
The previous owner changed the tuners out a long time ago with 1 ...

Hey,
Does anyone know where I can find a set of Grover Wavy tuners for a 1973 Rickenbacker 4001 ? I also could use a neck pickup, bridge cover, and the two thumb screws that go in the bridge.
