Re: Rickenbacker 425 or Rickenbacker 1000 wiring diagram

Thanks but I can't decipher the schematics on their site. Looking for a diagram.

I looked at it earlier but my ability to read schematics abandoned me after I separated from the Air Force.

Rickenbacker 425 or Rickenbacker 1000 wiring diagram

Looking for a wiring diagram for a 425 or 1000 (one pickup, volume control, tone control and tone selector switch). I can't decipher the schematic on the Rickenbacker website. I need something a little simpler.

Thanks.

David, if you care...I can post pix of my Rick 3000 wiring.

Let me know.

Seriously? I would like that. If it's not too much trouble.

Thank you.

Re: Rickenbacker 3001 Wiring

Thanks, Jeffrey...Hey, Dane!

Yeah...

Dane, like you messaged on the other forum, I'm assuming that the Vol is 250k and tone 500k each. Caps .47 with a 100k resistor.

Any idea if the wiring is similar to the G&L Legacy? I have a diagram for that and it sort of matches up to the Rick Schematic. I ...

Re: Rickenbacker 3001 Wiring

I understand that. That's easy. I just don't know which lugs to connect to nor do I know the values of the pots.

Those are the main hang ups I have with their schematics.

I have two 320s. When I first looked at the diagrams I was puzzled. I opened one up and I saw how it was wired. I looked at ...

Rickenbacker 3001 Wiring

I'm interested in how a 3001 is wired. Ive seen the schematic on the Rickenbacker site...but it's easier for me to decipher a wiring diagram rather than a schematic.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 3001...or pictures of a loom?

Re: "E" string tuning question...

Thanks. It's not a harmonic or an overtone or anything like that. It actually sounds like I'm using my Bigsby. The "E" string (and none of the others) actually drops down about a quarter tone (on both guitars). I'm not playing like Pete Townsend (as if...). Hard, open "E" power chords...but not ...

Re: "E" string tuning question...

@Scott: How does the nut spacer work...or maybe a better question is...what is a nut spacer? I have 54s on the 1984. 56? That's piano wire!! Ha! I'll try raising the bridge first.

@Brian: Going to raise the bridge slightly and see if that works. How would having the pickups too close cause the ...

"E" string tuning question...

I have two 320s (a 1984 and a 1991). When I play an open "E" chord the low "E" bends slightly flat then back in tune on both guitars. On the older 320 the effect is more pronounced. The older 320 has the heavier gauge Rickenbacker strings and the newer 320 has medium gauge strings.

Any ideas? Is it ...

Re: RIC 420

@Doctorwho: Did you ever take pictures of your wiring? I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like. I've been scanning the schematics but it's to "see" what they do without a birdseye view of the actual workings.

Re: 420 Schematic

Thanks. I see that now. Still learning to read electronic schematics. I was an electrician in the Air Force...but I was a civil engineering electrician...specifically I was a construction worker so we read blue prints not circuit schematics.

Does that portion of the circuit (cap+resistor+cap) go ...

420 Schematic

I'm considering getting a badly abused 420 off of Craig's List. It needs TLC...a lot...but that's okay because everybody needs a project guitar.

I have a question about the schematics on the Rickenbacker site. On the dedicated circuit somewhat separate (but not really) from the volume/tone circuit ...

Re: 425 a Student model?

What's the scale length of a 425? What were/are the sonic tricks contained in a 425? I found a really old one that someone is selling and I'm a curious.
