Re: The 360 body shape: has it changed again?

You are right about Pam and I stand corrected. Sorry Pam, I'll play a 12-string song for you tonight :D

Re: The 360 body shape: has it changed again?

In my opinion, people do not notice differences because they simply don't see them (yet). As a biologist I have learned that observation (seeing, hearing etc.) is something you can learn and need to be trained to do. For instance, some people will just not perceive 'background noises' such as a part...

Re: Grover -> Kluson conversion?

I am having the same job done on a 360 from 1973. My tech, who's doing the job, said he'll probably need to put in wooden plugs and drill new, smaller holes in order to fit the (smaller) Klusons. That's fine with me, as the guitar is JG anyway. IMO, the Grovers are simply too fat for the slim headst...

Re: Peter Buck's right hand

In my perception, 'a constant up or down motion with his right hand' just means that Buck creates these arpeggios with a single pick (his signature style) by hitting individual strings, using either an up- or downstroke (depending on whatever is more convenient), and often skipping one or two string...

Tuners on 1973 360's: which type/brand?

Hi everybody, I have just obtained a 'somewhat' modified 360 from 1973 that I wish to change back to it's original specifications (as much as possible). This would include changing the tuners. As it is hard to find high-res headstock pictures from that era, does anybody know which type of tuners wer...

Re: A Peter Buck/Johnny Marr Ltd Ed.

For instance, the latest ltd ed series, the CW ltd ed, is merely a 360C/V65 type guitar (albeit not extremely faithful to the 60's models) with a signed pickguard. Hardly. The CW's ultra thin tops are quite special, unlike any production guitar made previously. It was also the only 360 type guitar ...

Nonetheless, we, RIC fanatics, always appreciate the Ltd Ed's tremendously!

Re: A Peter Buck/Johnny Marr Ltd Ed.

RIC is chopping away at the backlog. IIRC, RIC just doesn't do Sig models anymore, and there's nothing custom about either guitar, really, that would justify a Sig model if they did. A RIC poster of each player would be cool. :D Just get a trucker girl sticker and put it on a slightly used JG 360/1...

A Peter Buck/Johnny Marr Ltd Ed.

Hi guys, I guess this subject comes along like every 10 or 15 years, but do I recall correctly that Peter Buck has never been interested in a Ltd Ed named after him? Would be very nice though.. And it should include the (optional) bumper sticker. Johnny Marr deserves one too, in my opinion. Those gu...

Re: New 360JG

Great looking piece of art. I'm in the market for a similar one (2010 or pre-1992). If you Americans stumble upon another one, please let me know (over here in Europe the Rick-market is @@#$$%%&!!).

Best wishes,
Kees

Re: A 360-12 or a 360-12V64? which one?

Play them both. The sound and feel of one will probably make you go, OH YEAH! While with the other you just say, oh yeah. Get the OH YEAH! one. Couldn't agree more. The one is simply is not better than the other. They are both wonderful guitars (and both types of PU are great too). They're just 'di...

Re: Dream Ric Realized!!

Does the x brace impart any sonic difference? From an older thread: The X bracing, when combined with a thin top, certainly does have a nice acoustic sound quality but the later carved-in-place bracing guitars sure have a great electric guitar sound- volume, sustain, and presence- that you don't ge...

This one is truely magnificent!! This is exactly the 350 that I would like to see (see other thread somewhere). What are miracles does Larry do?

Best wishes,
Kees
