Re: Just bought Rickie number 4.

Congratulations Col. I've only got the 1 Ric, and I love it dearly. It's obvious by your posts here that you love Rics, and I'm glad you got this highly figured axe. I personally think it's the most beautiful 4003 I've ever seen. Enjoy your new bass.

Re: made in usa and push pull pot stickers

I all honesty; what difference does it make that he wants to obtain the stickers that he had on the bass. Why would that be such a foolish thing to some? It makes no difference at all why he wants to replace them; he just does. If I could assist him in finding some; I would. I sure as heck, am not ...

Re: New Rickenbacker Owner, Looking for Suggestions

Cassius987 hit the nail on the head. A recorder bass is going to sound completely diferent from a raw bass. The recorder sound is always going to sound more full, and more like the sound on a CD. It's just a more polished sound.

New Ric Tour Vid

Don't know if you've seen this yet, but Priemier Guitar Mag online, has a 21 minute Ric tour video that's pretty "in-depth".

Re: Least Favorite Bassists

I thought the thread title was "least favorite bassist". First of all, Lennon wasn't a bassist; and second, what would you have had him do? Phil Spector layered everything except the running of a washing maching sound on the track. We all know Paul could have certainly done a better job, but ...

Re: Saddle Problems?

It's not a permanent fix for your issue, but I had the same problem when I bought my 2010 4003 FG. My saddles were all tight, even after changing from the Ric stock strings to flats; only when I started adjusting the intonation , did my saddle buzz/wobble start. Ric stepped up to the plate, and sent ...

Re: Please, make the nightmares stop

This is proof that some people just do not deserve the right to own a Ric
I guess this could have been said about Macca's, Glover's, or Lemmy's modified old Rics, if they weren't Macca's, Glover's, or Lemmy's.

It was meant as a joke there good buddy. He can chisel it out and fill it with gold ...

This is proof that some people just do not deserve the right to own a Ric. I guess he's not got around to mounting the bottle opener yet.

Re: PUTTING THE SCREWS...

I, like Cassius, use my mute too. One thing I like about the Ric mute, much better than the foam rubber type mute I use under the strings on my other basses, is that I have a different kind of control over the Ric mute. Even though I can cut, and shape the foam rubber mutes on the other basses; they ...

Re: Pickup Poles on 2010 4003

I followed your advice Cassius, and it sounds perfect now. The G was a bit to quiet in the mix before. It's truly amazing what a small adjustment can do to change the sound of this bass. As much as I've loved this bass from day one; like all (even good things); there were a couple small issues I had ...

Pickup Poles on 2010 4003

I'm wanting to raise the pickup ploe screw on my G string. How snug are the poles supposed to be from the factory? I tried to raise mine with my hex wrench, and it was so tight I couldn't even loosen it. All the poles screws were just as tight; even the ones that are already raised of the PU. Now I ...
