Oh... and love how he hands the 360-12 off to the audience at the end. Just caught that part...

Re: What recordings do you listen to when you wanna hear a Ric?
My earlier post prompted a revisit to Yes-BBC Sessions and I have to say this may be my new/old 4001 go-to track. Loved this Beatles cover and the fact the Peter Banks got tons of non-traditional Ric tones out his RM 1997, but Squire’s RM 1999 is emblematic of that freight train drive that soon ...

"What are the guitar nuts made of?"
Rickenbacker owners, of course... <rimshot>
I'll be here all week. Try the veal and don't forget to tip your waitress.
Sorry, ...it's been a very long week...

I second jps's comment and would add Genesis Live. Love Rutherford's 12-string sound. Also add Yes-BBC Sessions. Full of Ric 6, Ric bass and Hammond goodness, as prescribed by the FDA as part of your daily nutritional requirements.jps wrote:Selling England By The Pound is a great one!

Re: good songs to play for a 12 string beginner?
You may find a much lighter pick is a help on the 12. All my 6's get the same heavy, but the 12 string gets a very light Dunlop. Helps avoid getting caught in the bear trap. Good luck!

Re: how you knew you were ready for a 1986 360/12
Ha! I just looked closer at the pic and the saddle is completely normal. They're offset for correct intonation on that octave pair. All 12 strings are like that. Your's is perfectly fine.

Re: how you knew you were ready for a 1986 360/12
One other thought, given that it's sat for years and you may not yet have settled on which new strings, the intonation will have to be adjusted on the bridge. Whether you do this yourself or have it adjusted for you, it's a perfect time to clean up the bridge. My 12 came with a bridge that actually ...

Re: how you knew you were ready for a 1986 360/12
I'll let the experts give a more knowledgable response, but I can't see playing it like this doing any damage. It should be easily cleaned up and saddle replaced. Restringing will be the hardest part!

Congrats Jessica! That is an absolutely gorgeous guitar and a great find! I do love the triangles and "R". I'd hold on to that one forever. ...though, like most here, more are sure to follow. Welcome!

Re: Commemoration - Your Guitar's Manufacture Anniversary
Please forgive the self-indulgent addition to this thread, ....but I'm still happy as a clam over this resurrection. My 360/12 turned 46 years old this month and, after seeing all the gorgeous FG's and MG's on this forum (which make me green with envy!), this may seem mundane, but to me it's ...
