Thank you Bob!

Yes, it was just the SansAmp, no tone corrections on the mixer. Interesting, isn't it? Of course a real, big full stack with a good miking is another thing... assuming the fact that one KNOWS how to set it properly! ;-)

If you want to try to emulate Squire's sound the SansAmp can be useful just as an overdrive pedal, not as an amp substitute. A couple of days ago I did some experiments with my SansAmp, you know, I wanted to see how much "real" it would sound when plugged directly into a mixer... sans-amp, without ...

I also saw Squire with Yes back in 1974 (or '73?), and he was using a blackface Dual Showman with its 2x15" JBL cab.

Unfortunately, at the moment I have no chances to go to Germany.

Anyway, I would like to see the bass before to place any bid... unusual bridge pickup surround, no pictures of the back, no pictures of the whole headstock, seller with 0 feedback, no Paypal...

Any Deutsch forum member?

My CS has none to do with a 4003, and sounds meaningfully more Squire-ish than my V63.

Indeed, Ilan! If the output is their main goal, they just should get an active bass! ;-)))

Bob, I DO enjoy my bass! I would never sell it because I love its sound, its neck and everything... to not mention the fact that I have some very special personal reasons to love it.

I was just curious, you know? :-)

As you can see, it's not only a matter of fatter horns: the neck joints on my V63 and on Tony's one have the same shape of a 4003S (see the frets and the distance between the pickguard and the body edge).

All the V63 I saw had the body ...

My '88 V63 has thicker horns (and extra screws on the tailpiece) too. Funny that I noticed it just when I purchased my 4001CS and put the babies close together for a "family picture"...
