Ric posted this pic - had no idea these were coming and so soon!
I was very interested until I spoke to my music dealership friend - quoted UK RRP for one of these is £3499 which is absolutely insane for an S version bass... completely put me off buying one, and I was REALLY interested in ...

Looks great, Steve! This is the first close-up photo I've seen of the new CP inlays; kudos to Ben for resurrecting them. :D

Re: NBD - 4005XC Amber Fireglo
HI! It was a UK dealer, Sound Affects. They'd knocked 24% off the original RRP, presumably due to the release of the new 4005's being imminent and the fact they had 5 of them... great guys, i recommend them.

NBD - 4005XC Amber Fireglo
Well, whoops - I bought one, and im very glad I did!
This is an amazing instrument. It feels great - I cant describe it, just really well contstructed and "Premium" (which youd expect considering the price!) Even the rear of the bass has been bound at the edges with the classic Ric checkerboard ...

Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!

What is most interesting about their page is that they still have FIVE of the 4005XC's and they have dropped the price of them by £1200...!
Are they just not popular with anyone because they are short scale? Id love to try one... im more a ...

Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!
I can only presume the Rosetti price here in the UK is very, very, VERY wrong if you guys in the states are getting told about $4K on your pre-orders...

These have come down *a little* in price in the UK now, surprisingly (if you look around on the net). So im *a little* tempted by them... anyone else out there got one already? Mainly im interested in the weight of it, how it sounds acoustically (and is it loud?), what the case looks like (and if ...

"Pillar Box Red" has also been a special edition colour here in the UK, you can still see a fair few of these for sale at the big vendors...
