I bought a 4003 about 3 years ago and I've been gigging with it ever since. It weighs a ton, and is extremely uncomfortable when playing for a long time, but I love it anyway because it sounds great and looks the bomb.

- It's a little more towards the bridge end than i would have preferred (personal choice)
- Can be hard to find the cove again if you leave it. (I think the thumb rest version may be more forgiving in this regard)

The problem was just as Robert had described: The pickup bobbin was detached from the lower plate, and there was no evidence of how it had been attached in the first place. I couldn't see any glue residue at all. The four screws between the lower plate and the upper chrome bezel ...
