Re: Non-original Pickups in a 1972 4001

This one is original, has nice figured maple, no walnut stripe with an astounding price...at £3250 it's been on sale a very long time. http://newkingsroadguitars.co.uk/guitarshop/RICKENBACKER_4001_-_1972_-_FIREGLO.html I phoned the fella a while ago to see if he would do a deal as I have been looki...

Re: Post a pic that's suitable for framing

I know this thread is a bit old but I have just downloaded some photos from my camera (eventually!) and one caught my eye that may fit in here. Its my '73 BG leaning on my shed

Re: Um....going to see RUSH next Weds. (6/22) in L.A.

I saw them in London last month, it's a fantastic show and yes they did do the whole of moving pictures which was the first tour I saw them on. Get there on time to see the little vid they play at the begining staring the band 'Rash', very, very funny! You'll have a great time, enjoy! Although...

I'm not really a Yes man, but I checked this out and I liked it, proper rick sound as you say Jay.
I saw from the comments on you tube that this is a new vocalist?

Re: How would you describe the neck on a new 4003 ?

It's odd but my '73 4001 is very slim but my '04 4003 is very chunky and I really don't get on with it although heaven knows I've tried. It intersting to hear that the 2010 is quite slim. Did they make different profiles simultaneously in the same year, or did they change them for each batch?

Re: Favorite Rickenbacker Color ?

I'm not much of a fan of solid colours generally, I like to see the grain of the wood through the finish. I have a BG 4001 and I love it, you can just see the wood through it, cool! :)

Re: Help me find my 4001?

What a great tale, thanks for sharing! Like probably many guys here I too have a long lost Rick, an old 4001 FG. I was working as a Saturday boy in a music shop in north London when I was about 16 and a guy came in and traded in his battered old Rickenbacker for something shiny. I was a major Rush f...
