Re: Show Us Your Amplifier/s!

I have a new amp in my playing room. Well, in fact it's not new, that 1970 Orange Matamp head was my first tube amp, back in 1980. I had lending it to my best friend's nephew 25 years ago, and now, i have it back at my home, after have it serviced and with a brand new Orange cab. :) http://i488.phot...

Re: Role Call Old and New

Draguignan, South of France.
30km from Saint Tropez.
You know the Pink Floyd's song on Meddle ?
Edit : and it's my 83th post, exactly the number for the "Var" department number in France.
Amazing!

Re: How long have you consecutively owned a Ric?

Same 330 since 1992, and 620/12 since 1995.
I still regret selling my 1985 320 to get my 330...

Re: The La's

After several looks at that opening shot of the guitar neck, I would say the Ric is definitely a Fireglo 360/12, strung traditionally. That clip has been my introduction to The La's, so can someone please recommend a CD of theirs with plenty of 12-string on it? They only made one LP so you have no ...

Re: Fender Amps

My Rickenbackers in my old 72 Princeton Reverb sound very nice. That's my main amp since i've bought it 15 years ago.
It's ok for home use, as well as for gigs (miked or not) or rehearsals.
My 1990 Vox AC30 collects dust since. :)

Re: Chicks With Ricks

So, what basis would you propose? Stock. Must be 100% stock to be a Rickenbacker. As soon as a player even change strings over to a non-factory brand, well, they are no longer playing a real Rickenbacker. If i understand you well this would not be a real Rickenbacker ? http://blog.sharemyguitar.com...

Re: 360 12 Stringing tips

That way i think i understand better. Thanks for your translation. Yes the key worked smoothly before and it 's an enclosed sealed Schaller, the same as on my 330 . The problem is rather recent. I'll try to manage it next time i'll change strings, which could not be exactly tomorrow. Bu...

Re: 360 12 Stringing tips

I've also noticed that a tuning peg is becoming very very hard to turn. It's a Schaller mini, the 1st E. Is there something i can do or will i have to change it ? Schallers should have a tension screw at the end of the button; try loosening it a bit and see if that helps. Thanks Jeffrey. I've done ...

Re: 360 12 Stringing tips

The whole thing takes me about 15 minutes. Changed strings on my 620/12 last month. It almost took me 2 hours ! It's probably why i only change them once in a year. I put Ricky Sounds strings 10/42. "Compressed Round Wound strings from the same factory which produced the originals we ha...
