I used to work at a music store and the guitars that were hanging on the wall always had the yellow marks from the surgical rubber from the hangers if they were there too long.

Check the string saddles in the nut. It is possible that the strings are not seating correctly.

Here is a close-up of the body. Mind you, that I still have the stove knobs. I put the 63" style knobs on myself which are still on this guitar to this day.

You are correct. The picture you posted is not the same guitar as mine. This guitar is on the front cover,the inside of the front cover and the inside of the rear cover. Also in the book is a b/w photo with text in Japanese.Here is a photo of the back of the entire guitar.
