FIrst proper gig with my late 05 model Mid blue last Sat. Sounded awesome. Now looks dreadful. Top and bottom of the neck binding are now blue, and so is the binding on the top of the body where my arm rests. Compression to get a Squire/Lee sound??

I haven't had My ric 4003 for long and have always loved that growly slightly raw but essentially clean sound that these guys get. I was interested to read in other threads that it seems that is not so much down to using overdrive as it is to compressing the sound to help get the growl.

Thanks guys. I had noticed that the large screws also raised and lowered the pick up which is why I was slightly hesitant to dive straight in. I'll have a look at pickguardian as well. All the best.
