Insuring the Ricks

Any Australian forum members know what the go is re insuring Ricks, and guitar collections in general, here in Oz. I'm about to renew my contents insurance and planning to ask my insurance company but it would be good to have some insider knowledge before calling them.

thanks

Re: The Jam - Jan 1st 1981 (30 years ago!)

They were THE BAND of my late teenage years and my introduction to Rickenbackers. It was hard work at the time tracking down import copies of their releases in Australia. Their record label released the first couple of albums and then seemed to ignore them during the classic All Mod Cons/Setting Son...

Too far for me to go unfortunately :( Loved the album the Feelies released this year "Here Before". Sounded like they'd never been away.

Ah, think I've missed this one. Seems to be out of print but second hand copies on Amazon for about US$10. Will get one.

Hound Dogs Bop Shop West Melbourne Closing

This place is an institution in Melbourne for people looking to buy LP's, CD's and books covering the predominantly the 50's and 60's. It specialises ...

I'm a big fan of Cardiff Rose. With Mick Ronson producing and sharing guitar duties it puts two of the great guitarists of the period together.

Re: Best Book For Vintage Rickenbacker Guitars ...

Agree the Richard Smith one is the best. But also worth getting the Collectable Rickenbacker Value and Reference Guide by John Minutaglio and Steven Fant. And there's also Rickenbacker Electric 12 String by Tony Bacon.

Best of luck Molly. Like most Australian kids growing up in the 70's Countdown was my introduction to music.
