Re: Oh no, Hello Kitty!

Fret slots were filled with an ebony veneer. Controls are Vol/blend. Front sticker has been changed and will get cleared in the next couple weeks. I also have a 2011 4004 Cheyene ii fretless, and 1995 4003 converted to 5 string. 0FE628D8-AC42-464B-BBD6-B626DD70FB4BBB (1).jpeg Welcome. Nice to see y...

Re: vintage 4001 case question

I’m interested too. My ‘72 4001 has what I assume it to be the original case. Blue interior, no case logo.
But... It has to be one of the most ill fitting cases I own. The bass swims in it. Maybe it’s for the 4005...I dunno.

Re: Inherited 1968 Ric and need advice

Sorry on the passing of your dad! The bass needs some setup and care from a tech. Right off I can see the bridge saddles are not adjusted correctly and most likely are causing most of the intonation problems. https://i.imgur.com/IjaAEy6.jpeg Beautiful bass you got there. And don’t underestimate the ...

I tried to stand like this when playing 4001 in my early days. Thought it was cool!
What, with the neck tilted down?
Ah yup. I thought he was posing/playing that way. He was a great influence with me In my earlier days.

Re: ROS How do you route your effects?

I use a stereo/TRS cable that I make on my ‘72 4001 and all of my two PU basses. Use two amps, usually the treble amp is the lowered wattage of the two. I do not separate the amps, preferably stack them with the bass PU channel on the bottom. Occasionally I’ll keep them side by side. Sometimes I use...

Re: Replacement Handle for 70's Ric case

Just as an off topic....I always wondered why my '71 4001 fits so loose in the case....everything looks to be there...it just moves a lot in the case.
Maybe it was for a 4005?
