The stock pots in these basses actually measured 175k ohms, which is mud tone central. Running two pickups through one volume control is also tone suicide with the mid freq cut that results with the stock wiring. VVT or Balance/Volume/Tone Delivers MUCH better tone.

I don't see how bolting that relatively large part on top of a stock tailpiece could ever get good action. I've got the new V2 tailpiece on both my newwe Ricks, and adjustability is great.

The new DA rod in RIC basses is not replaceable without removing the fingerboard. Just like everyone elses basses now. I have 3 RIC basses with this rod, and have had no issues.
