Re: Offset bridge question, Fender Jazzmaster CP MIM

Have you tried the Mastery bridge? It is made for Jaguars and Jazzmasters, and is designed to give them a little bit more sustain and depth than the standard bridge, without losing too much of the unique character which makes them what they are. They are pretty popular with the people over on the Of...

Re: Beautiful bass on the bay

They might just be putting it on eBay to make sure that it is seen, and hoping that somebody contacts them asking them to sell it privately. It is certainly a beautiful guitar, in very good condition, and if I lived locally I would definitely take a look!
Nice find anyway - thankyou for sharing!

Re: Rickenbacker Owners Must Root For The Giants In Super Bowl

Funny that you mention guitars in team colours - I have been idly wondering about building a Detroit Lions-themed Strat copy or Telecaster copy (yes, I'm a Lions fan... and pretty thrilled with the 2011 - 2012 season, as you can imagine!) - body in silver, with an ebony fretboard with the little blu...

Re: Awsome Old Ric accessories catalogue

Thankyou very much for posting this, Billy. :D Things like this, which were probably never made to be kept, can really give you a taste of their era - wonderful to see - thankyou!
I love that letterman jacket - if they still made those today, I'd buy one like a shot!

Re: Favorite Bassists

That's right - his son, Abe Laboriel Junior, decided to take up a different instrument in order to avoid spending his entire career being compared to his dad. A brave move really, and I admire him for doing that.

No problem, Stephen! Nice to have "met" you, anyway! :D

Re: Favorite Bassists

I love listening to great bassists, and there are so many excellent ones that I could not even begin a comprehensive list of all my favourite players.

But two stand above all others, for me - James Jamerson and Abe Laboriel. Musical geniuses, both of them!

Re: TV Yellow 4004Cii

First of all, congratulations on your win, Joseph! That bass is just beautiful... - I don't know when I've seen a more arresting instrument than that. What a fantastic guitar to have! I used to have a TV Yellow Gibson SG which was quite a jawdropper when you lifted it out of its case, but a TV Yello...

Re: Back to Rickenbacker

Wow, that dark sunburst looks phenomenal! I used to have a light sunburst (perhaps mapleglo? I'm still getting used to all the names! It was an orangey colour, and it looked beautiful!) 4001 from roughly the same era, and I am just starting to get back into the Rickenbacker game, like yourself. I ha...
