I like it too! As an additional benefit, if you decide to sell it, you can advertise it as RARE!!!. You know, just like every other Ric listing.

Re: The Rickenbacker Moment That Brought You Onboard
For me it was the Beatles, or Lennon, more specifically. I was learning guitar in the mid 80's on a Harmony Les Paul copy from the Sears catalog. I was big into Beatle music and other 60's groups. I fell in love with John's second 325 that I saw in pictures. My parents got me a 325v63 in 1988. I was...

Re: Why Did You Let Your Rickenbacker Go?
I got my first Rickenbacker in 1988. Since then, I've owned 11 different Ricks of various body styles, string configurations, and colors. I currently own 2. So I have sold 9. Every one of them, I sold because I was either in a financial bind or wanted to upgrade to something else. I have always been...

Re: GOLD PICKGUARD & TRC
Yeah easy availability of gold appointments would be on my Rickenbacker wish list. I think the gold TRC and guard covers look great on most of the colors of guitar finishes available. Turquoise and gold is my favorite. I think Ruby Red and gold would be pretty awesome too. Of course gold goes well w...

Re: John Lennon’s 58 325 at R&R Hall of fame
Has there ever been any definite word on whether those are the genuine guitars or very accurate repros? I remember reading in the forums several years ago that there is suspicion of the Lennon guitars on display being very good reproductions. John Hall even made a post alleging the existence of repr...

Re: Two fretboard questions
Not a fan of the 381? Not really. To be honest though I've never even seen one in the wild much less held and played one. My disdain for the instruments with the thicker neck girth comes from a late 90's 370/12 that I bought. It was awful. It felt like fretting a Louisville slugger. My previous Ric...

Re: Two fretboard questions
How early 90's? No one's mentioned the neck size or shape yet. Mid 90's they got fatter. Mid 00's they seemed to have slimmed back down to a reasonable girth. I've always heard that size doesn't matter, JDog. :!: Oh, it matters. :o I prefer the Ricks that are less well endowed. Too much girth can b...

Re: CAD Ricks
I'm sure that it was a slow process that took several years to get all of the various models onto the CAD system. I thought that it began in the late 90's. I don't know where I got that information. Probably somewhere on the internet.

Re: Tell me about your first Rickenbacker...
@jcreasy, after reading your post about Rip'em silly, I did a few internet searches and read some more about that store. Apparently they got that nickname because they would cheat people. I was unaware of this. I felt like I got pretty good deals and service from them at the time. Although I don't h...

Re: Tell me about your first Rickenbacker...
Original Poster, Was the Atlanta dealer Atlanta Discount Music? No, it was store called Rhythm City in Buckhead. It was a 'small-ish' store inside an old building. The place was crammed full of gear. The walls were covered in guitars and amps were stacked almost to the ceiling. You could barely wal...

Re: Help Sourcing 325c58 Replacment Nut
Hi Matthew, you may not find a direct factory replacement for the nut as it is an item that needs to be fitted to your particular guitar/strings/action. However, its not a big deal. You can buy the nut material from online vendors that sell luthier supplies like Stew-Mac and cut it yourself. If you ...
