Yet another tailpiece question..

Hi all,

It's been some time since I last posted something on this forum, but still perfectly happy with my 4001C64. Except..

It has taillift. Always had a little, but now it's come to a point where I believe that the break angle behind the bridge causes the strings to go "out of phase", for a lack ...

S1 switch?

So, I've had my 4001C64 for something like 2 years now and still love it to bits, but lately I've been quite curious of what it would sound like without the .0047 µF cap. Problem is I don't want the one or the other tonal option and I hate the sight of 1 pot sticking out a bit if a push/pull pot ...

Re: Just bought a RIC..

Ok, i'm having a probem right now with the 4001c64.

I want to remove the horseshoe cover, but I can't find a nut that would fit the screw, so the red wire can't get any ground. Any ideas on how to do this without breaking stuff?

Right now there are some really old Rotosounds roundwounds set up on my 4001c64. Thinking about it to change them, because all my punch is gone, but I ain't got the money for it right now.. :(

Re: Just bought a RIC..

Been a long time since I checked the RRF and in the meantime I recorded a few things with the C64. You can take a listen right here (post-rockish), here and here.. Enjoy! :)

Re: Just bought a RIC..

Just recorded a few things with the 4001c64 and i must say: damn.. it sounds VERY good. Does the Squire/ Entwistle/ Lee "clank" i've been after for a long time very well, but also the mellow stuff like those mccartney basslines sound really good on this bass.

I think this one is never going to ...

Re: Just bought a RIC..

@Berth: The seller wanted it to be over asap, so we both chose for the interparcel express, which sends to europe in a day (!). Though it is quite pricey, the bass wil be here tommorow. :)

Re: Just bought a RIC..

And again some problems: interparcel doesn't know my postcode, so the seller can't arrange collection.. Anybody any idea what i can do now? I'm out of ideas...

Re: Just bought a RIC..

Thanks!

As the bass will arrive next Wednesday, I already am on the look for some particular information on the bass:
1. How do you adjust the horseshoe? On mine it's pretty much set as a triangle, but I've seen a lot horseshoe RIC's on which they're just flat.
2. The cap mod; what exactly does it ...
