Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

On Saturday my band, Cartoon Food, supported Big Country, which was an amazing experience for us. The band and crew were so warm and kind, and Mark Brzezicki, who has played and recorded with a who’s who, said he went out front and watched us and thought we were great! It was a terrific night and t...

Re: help identifying bass

That was my understanding too. My understanding, three. My understanding four. Bass looks right to me, even the pickguard. Looks like it might be early to mid 90s.... It may be the angle, but I thought the guard on my '90 looks slightly more blobby. qdxcv5iccylt19b262ph.jpg PS. please excuse the la...

Re: help identifying bass

Pretty sure all the V63's had the hot HS (excluding the first few that had HS made with leftover vintage parts). Vintage spec HS came out with the C64's.

Re: help identifying bass

The body looks right to me.

The guard isn't original, IMO.
Nut's been changed.

Re: Wish List - Rickenbacker bass Offerings and Features

I have plans for a palm mute that can easily be added to any old style tailpiece. It would allow you to apply varying force with your palm or none at all.

Just need to make a few one of these days to try it out.

Mine is from Japan too, but luckily escaped Godzilla's reign of terror.
It's interesting, I had a '92 FG V63 years ago that also came from Japan.

Wonder what's the deal with FG V's and Japan?

If thats true im totally out of buying one, that's crazy money.
I paid less than that for an all original '62 slab-board P-bass. :o

Ya, this one has the best of the best for V63 features, minus the real HS, maybe.
I know where you can get a real HS PU, but my friend will be pretty mad at me if I, oh, never mind.

Glad to read you still have yours; I thought you had sold it. Is it the MG from yonder year?
