I went to last night's show in Bethlehem, full show, everything was great & met up with Mike (mikeyesfan) who I recogonized instantly, his son and (of course) some quality Xi time!
Still going to Pittsburgh show in August.

Miguel, as usual, your performance, tone and creativity in visual presentation is spectacular. Thanks for sharing your work here!
I'll be seeing them soon enough.

Love it! Thanks for that great flashback. That entire band was (still is) cool beyond belief!

Re: Alternate.. tuning! (8 string)
Very cool picture, Paul. I've been that close to the RM as well once but didn't dare touch it because it was right before a show and Chris wasn't there, only Richard. But he held it right under my nose for a close up inspection. One of these days I'll catch him at a good time and I'll ask to play it...

Re: Chris with another RM ?
His 4001S FOOW bass, of which he has several. One is currently being repaired by our own Paul W. after a stage collapsed on it a few years ago. It's the bass he uses for Machine Messiah and he has at least two of them. A third was auctioned off for charity. Of course he also has one of his own signa...

Re: Gretsch dropping 5120/5122
I played one of these last weekend. Very sweet for the price and the color was awesome - but I opted for the 12 string in black! (edit: Around $600.00 here in the 'burgh.)

Re: RIP Peter Banks
Nice pic, Eden, I think that was his FB profile? Peter did a nice long interview which I watched recently, think it was call the Peter Banks Story (it's on Youtube) and I was struck by his candid nature. He talks openly about his career and, while not happy with how some things went, including his b...

Peter Banks
Peter Banks, who should be fairly well known here as a Rickenbacker Artist, passed away on March 8th. His aggressive playing was one of many who followed in the wake of Pete Townsend in the late 60's. Although only in Yes for two records, most fans remember and respected his early contributions to w...

Re: RIP Peter Banks
Very sad to hear this. I enjoyed Peter's playing and his honest, open interviews. I'm going to give the first two Yes albums a spin today for sure. Wish I had "Can I play you something" and "Two Sides of Peter Banks" as I've always heard they were good records as well.

Re: A Chris Squire tribute
Side 2 of TFTO is the Guild fretless, Chris has stated in some interviews that it was one of his favorite moments, as he put it "More than other bits that people go on about" - Perhaps he felt this had been a bit overlooked. I can look up the exact quote, from Tim Morse's book, if needed.....

Re: YES Spring 2013 Tour
Everyone here knows my opinion of setlists, I never want to know in advance what the performers have in store for me. Of course, this tour is the exception, since the entire premise was to promote the performance of these three records as they were recorded. So, I did dabble into a few youtube clips...

Re: Where to begin?
South Side of the Sky , last track on side 1 of Fragile. For me, music never really gets any better than that! To Be Over (Relayer), Turn of the Century (Going for the one), Lightning Strikes (The Ladder), Into The Lens (Drama), I Am Waiting (Talk), Release Release (Tormato), Looking Around (Yes), ...

Re: Where to begin?
I'd start with Time and a Word, to hear the original lineup and get a feel as to what they were looking for, then The Yes Album, Fragile and Close to the Edge, in order. Those three are, to me their best work as a period and by the end of CTTE you'll get the extended piece format at it's very best. ...
