Here is my 74 4001 [with 77 4001 and 80 4003] kind'a funny.... apparently [going by tumblr comments..] you can't get a clean sound out of these and you can't play them finger style... their loss I guess... :lol: Love the v63-type pickguards on these! I am in 2 different originals bands here. I have found that for my pop punk pyschedelia band,the Caucasians in Crisis,flats do not really get the grind,bite or edge that best suits the band's sound. Guard is ordered, I love dealing with the Pickguardian :D This will be the forth guard he has made me.

I need to get a pickup cover and knobs [some one removed the silver parts..] as well.

I use chromes on almost all my basses and never seen why flats limit what styles you play from folk to grindcore.

I don't think RIC sells those guards anymore. At least they're not in the Boutique. If you do fond one, you'll need to make the radius that hugs the front lower corner of the bridge pickup surround smaller to match the early surrounds.
