Just a newbie learning the ropes of bass playing for the past year on a Fender Squire (rental)..decided to buy myself a nice birthday present and I'm taking delivery of a 4003. What differences can I expect, I hear the neck on the Rickenbacker is "wider" , it's a "heavy" bass at almost 10 ...

I've ordered a 4001C64S and I would appreciate your suggestions on what amp would be the best for this Ric..I'm not planning on playing Madison Square Gardens, but it would be nice to have a little "kick" when it's needed..I'm mostly jamming with friends (playing 60's rock & roll)along ...
