Re: Jack Bruce Documentary

I had a long conversation with the sound engineer who recorded the studio sessions shown in this documentary and he was full of praise for Jack - both for his musicianship and singing and also how great he was to work with. Re: Is this a genuine serial number?

Thanks for the information - it all seems quite simple when you know how. I spotted this number on a bass for sale which doesn't look quite right to me. I'll give the jackplate (and the rest of the bass) some closer scrutiny next time.

Re: Investment potential

Yes - that's the one. Seems a reasonable price too, especially compared with some of the prices quoted on-line. Looking forward to giving it a go.

Re: Investment potential

Thanks for the offer Pete but unfortunately white (or any other solid colour) just don't seem to do it for me. I thinks it's the appearance of the wood grain through the transparent colours that I love. I'm going to have a look at a new 4003FG in a shop in Glasgow this week just to see if that is ...

Re: Investment potential

Gosh - what an amazing response to my query. I wasn't expecting quite such a collection of carefully put together thoughts and advice. Thanks very much to everyone who contributed. I have to say that the idea of a new 4003FG seems very appealing, especially as I can get one immediately I come up ...

Investment potential

Hi everyone.

I'm new to this great forum and wondered if I could ask your advice. I owned and then stupidly sold a gorgeous 1976 (I think) 4001FG many years ago and am only now in a position to be able to afford another Rickenbacker bass. The only way I'm likely to persuade my wife that this is a ...
