I had some time and took another look at putting the BA II on my JetGlo 4003. I made a small filler block out of a piece of maple, spray painted it black, and installed it using the existing screw holes. Then drilled 5 new holes for the BA II and installed it. I was ...

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric
This is from a show I did last year with Rush tribute band Anthem at the Music Box in San Diego.
Another that I did for a friend's CD release show also at the Music Box in San Diego.

Re: Which pre-amp/DI stomp box do you use with your Ric bass?
I have a few that I've acquired within the last couple of years. A couple of months ago, I contacted Tim at Master Effects and he created the Super FORTY. It's a nice option and very close clone.

I just started using a Master Effects Super FORTY. It's a clone of an Ashly SC-40 - I have a couple of those as well.

Re: Jon Camp - cap or no cap?
FWIW, I haven't noticed *much* difference on my 4003 with the cap in or out while in ric-o-sound mode. Very subtle.
YMMV,

Even when you solo the bridge pickup?
When solo'd, it's more apparent, but I would not call it drastic. In my case, which is probably similar to what most guys ...

Here's a pic of the route under the bridge on my 2011 4003. The area under the mute is a little bit deeper than the rest.

For those that installed the Zero Glide and had some time to play with it...how are you liking it? I don't need a new nut atm, but I like the concept.

Re: Not enough relief
So, to be clear, the fix was leaving it tuned 1/2 step up and that pulled the neck into more relief which then stayed with relief even after going back to standard tuning?
How long was it left in 1/2 step up tuning? Thanks!
I have another brand bass that has fret rattle and the usual things are ...

Re: Zero-Mod Thumb Rest, has anyone tried it?
I have a couple on my basses. They work well and look good....almost invisible.
For me personally, it rides just a tad higher than I would like but when I make the effort to get up on it, it feels pretty good.
I agree with this: it's too thick for my preference. I tried it for a few days, then ...

Re: Not enough relief
Well congrats on getting it to where he wanted it.
It's always a delicate balance.
I find most basses need adjustments 2 times a year, just past spring, just past fall.
It's all about temperature/humidity and the moving woods.
I live near San Diego and I rarely have to make a truss adjustment ...

Re: Not enough relief
Is the buzz that noticeable through an amp onstage or is it only present when listening unplugged? If the action is good and you only want to increase the relief because of the buzz then get the frets dressed.
I didn't plug it into an amp at my house. To me, the fret buzz wasn't too bad. I ...
