Re: Attention Transonic owners

Will do Tracy -- It'll be interesting to see what he says. FYI -- The meter in my 200 that Bob Rissi restored has a 50% red zone. Did he get the meter from you Tracy?

By the way, I received the meter from you yesterday. Thanks.

Retrofret Vintage

Has anyone out there had any experience with Retrofret Vintage in New York? Good? Bad? Ugly?? Feel free to pm me if you would feel better not answering in a public forum.

Next question -- Does anyone have the time or inclination to check out a guitar there for me?

Re: Attention Transonic owners

Tracy, please PM me with cost. I think I would like a back-up knowing how hard they are to come by. The restoration came out wonderfully. Bob Rissi did a great job of raising this one from the dead. The grill clothe is faded, but outside of that and not having the small note for the head everything ...

Re: Attention Transonic owners

Thanks Dave, that helps a great deal. The note that I received from Ron is 5 1/2 inches across where yours is 4 inches and 2 1/2 inches in height where yours is 1 7/8. So the 100 notes are larger than the 200 notes by 1 1/2 in width and 5/8 inches in height. That means that I have a larger note (one...

Attention Transonic owners

If you own a Transonic 100 or a Transonic 200 (or are lucky enough to own both) I would like your help. I am trying to find out the height and length of the Rickenbacker logo note on each. In the pictures of these amps the 100 note appears larger. If you own a 100 please take a second and measure th...

Rickenbacker Note Logo for Transonic 200 amp

Here's a long shot. I am looking for one of the Rickenbacker note logos for the head of a Transonic 200 amp. Anyone have one sitting in drawer? If not, any suggestions for where I might look?

My apologies for the double post, but I've listed this on the "Wanted" section as well.

Re: Transonic 200 for sale (maybe)

Well it looks like everything is going to work out. Bob Rissi is currently working on the restoration and will be driving from CA to Indiana to visit his daughter and is willing to transport the amp and set it up at my house. I should have the amp in my possession around March 15 - 17. He seems like...

Stringing a 730S 12-string

So how do you string a Rick acoustic? Do you string it the same way as you would a Rick electric 12-string (I believe reversing the position of the octave strings on the first/lower four) or do you string it as you would any other 12-string acoustic (not that it's just any other 12-string acoustic)?...

Transonic 200 for sale (maybe)

Some of you may know that right before Christmas I picked up a Transonic 200 on eBay. Here's the original listing (picture below) -- ----- Vintage 1966 Rickenbacker Transonic Guitar/Bass Amp. Own a piece of Rock 'n' Roll history! This amp can be used for guitar or bass. It has built in effects inclu...

Re: Global warming 'irreversible' for next 1000 years

Hey Brian, I'm never one for stopping productive dialogue but what we've been doing, me included, is far from productive. To be honest I don't much care if the thread gets locked or not. We are faced with huge problems everywhere and all we can do, all of us, is cite sources that say we are right. T...

Re: Global warming 'irreversible' for next 1000 years

I have an idea. There seems to be a great deal of passion on all sides of this issue -- and I include myself. Right now in Australia hundreds of square miles of land have been burned and more will be burned in the coming days. Some of these fires were set by man, others weren't. And whether the heat...
