Re: Something's fishy here

When you go to the "About" page it shows an obviously Asian factory. http://www.thecheapestguitar.com/content/3-about-thecheapestguitarcom But the RIC thing had me wondering as the images are obviously Rickenbackers, not fakers. But the more you read the descriptions, that is all cut and p...

Something's fishy here

Can this site have real RICs?

Look at the Rickenbacker link.

Some sound used and bit beat up like the 360/6 FG.

But others sound or look new and just don't have a case.

Hard to fathom these prices.

Re: How to spot a fake Rickenbacker

Yes, those are the real thing. Usually the tailpiece, TRC or pick-ups will be odd or cheap looking on a fake and the price will be too low. 8) 8)

Yes, Martins are different. The RIC has it's own unique and very full sound. 8) 8)

That's what I was thinking. It almost looks like a bass but clearly doesn't sound like one.

Re: Rickenbacker 330w Finish!

I am not sure what you mean by finish? It is just oiled wood. So it doesn't have anything but the natural shine, smell and feel of walnut.

But that aside, yea, if you can't tune it I'd talk to the deer too.

Re: Rickenbacker 330w Finish!

Michael,

Are you sure it was completely unfinished? I find that hard to believe. It looks like natural wood. Applying more oil may have given the wood a bit more sheen, but I doubt it was completely unfinished. Post some photos of the frets in question please.

Re: 730 Shiloh

Yes, thanks for the pics. I also own one of these and it has a great sound and the neck is fast like an electric. Great looking RIC acoustic. You have done justice to this wonderful Model 730S Shiloh. :D 8) 8)

Re: '86 Ric 330 advice

I'd firm up the truss rods first. They are not supposed to be loose. If you can't tighten 'em up so they are at least not rattling around, return it.
