Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!
I may still have a set of silver-topped knobs in my parts box that were on the March '67 330 I had years ago. Not sure why I still have the knobs and not the guitar (I sold the 330). I don't have the smaller fifth knob. 330-1200_7093a.jpg 1967 Vintage Knobs-800_2159.jpg 1967 Vintage Knobs-800_2160.j...

Re: 12 String Amp Questions - Fender '59 Bassman vs Vox AC30
If that 7ender Bassman RI amp sounds anything like the vintage 1962 Concert Amp I had about 10 years ago you should be good to go. The concert was a later version, more-or-less of the vintage Bassman amp, but with two channels and their awesome sounding "harmonic" vibrato on the second cha...

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric
QC at Newtown Park.jpeg The only crowd shot was a video so here’s a screenshot of it. Of course, in today’s digital world, is it a real gig or an AI gig  Funny you should say that. The first thought that popped into my head was AI! Did someone use a tape measure to ensure the (almost) ev...

Re: 2008 620 backbow/twist
I had been thinking about you mentioning the possibility of the (large) inlay (fret marker) where you said you suspected an elevation. Some factory working could have just flexed (bent) the inlay in to make it fit rather than take the time to sand an edge down further... who knows? IIRC, the inlays...

Re: 4001c64 tail lift
I restraightened a worse-bent 4003S/5 tailpiece in this thread: https://www.rickresource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=161788&hilit=tailpiece&start=60 I also added the two extra screws as suggested earlier in that thread to ensure that it would not it again, but that might be something you prob...

Re: 4001c64 tail lift
My old July '73 4001 had a bit of tail lift. It was never a problem in any way, structurally or sonically.

Re: 4001c64 tail lift
It's the same material, just chrome plated vs. black powder coated.
The tailpieces on the V63 and CS basses are 5-screw models; the C64 has a 3-screw tailpiece.

Re: help identifying bass
My understanding, three. My understanding four. Bass looks right to me, even the pickguard. Looks like it might be early to mid 90s.... It may be the angle, but I thought the guard on my '90 looks slightly more blobby. qdxcv5iccylt19b262ph.jpg PS. please excuse the lack of proper JPS knob alignment...

Re: 4003 truss rod help
I bought the Ric driver and had someone thin the walls so it fits under. Having said that, on occasion I’ve taken the easy route and gone to a pro. I have a long-shank multi-bit screwdriver that works really well as the whole shaft is thin, similar to this one (it's the perfect size for the truss r...

Re: Current horseshoe vs highgain
Wish I could give you some kind of answer but my only experience with RI horseshoe pickup is with two of the earlier, hotter ones; regarding hi-gains, the two basses that I had that came with them were replaced with scatterwound toasters upon arrival.

He certainly hasn't been around here in a long time that I recall.
I wonder if Woody has been in contact with Sergio; Woody and his partner moved to Portugal a couple years ago.
I see that his last post was on 01/17/20.
