Re: Early Rose Morris 1996

Wow, what a first post! That one is definitely a keeper.

I have some DE and DK Rose Morris guitars so this is one of the earliest I have seen in Australia.

Re: 220 pickups

Wasn't it an HB-2 that was used around 88-89 when they moved away from the single coil? I have a 230GF that is Tele-like in both sound (I have a lot of WRH-equipped Teles) and feel.

Re: Rickenbacker.com has been offline recently

Yes, exactly what Graham said. The back-end that Rickenbacker are running is Windows running IIS 7.5. IIS 7.5 was released in 2009 and went End Of Support (EOS) in 2020. It is high risk for any organisation to operate a system that is no longer supported by the Vendor. It is significantly more risky...

The error message is from IIS which is Windows only.

Re: Rickenbacker Luthiers Australia

Piers is located at Five Dock and Frank is in Dulwich Hill which is the Inner West of Sydney.

If you google "Crockenbacker", it should be readily evident how the issues between Piers and RIC exist.

Re: Rickenbacker Luthiers Australia

Gary, I have had Frank Grubisa work on several of my Rickenbackers (50s, 60s and 70s) and have found him excellent. He can be quite busy but well worth the wait. He is very familiar with Rickenbackers and I think you will find some comfort in the headstock design on his Grubisa Merlin 12. Piers is a...

I believe it was a defretted Gretsch with a strange tuning that he used to use quite often. He had a name for the tuning but I can't quite remember it.

Re: a couple questions about rickenbacker capri history/construction details

Adam, I have had a few pretty obscure questions answered by ex-Rickenbacker staff before so hopefully one of them (if they are still lurking) sees your questions and responds accordingly.

Hey Gary.

I haven't stumbled across any in Australia before nor have I heard of anyone else that has. It's a pretty rare beast down here.

Good luck finding one.

Re: Help! Neck Pickup Problem1

Most likely a faulty pot. Does it have the same travel as the other pot? Try gently working it back and forth to see if it makes any difference.
