Well, this is hard to believe, but after two months away, this problem showed up again.

Guitar played fine Monday night through my amp. Changed the strings. Played again, everything was fine. Put it away.

Picked it up the following night, and this problem was back. I got frustrated, so I put ...

Well, I took the pickguard off tonight and used my multimeter on the hot leads of both pickups (connected at the switch) and ground

Bridge was around 10.5
Neck was around 1.7

Unless I am checking these the wrong way (as described above), something seems very off with the neck pickup. The only ...

Don't look now, but the Ric Gremlins are back. Same problem, only this time I couldn't get rid of it.

Any ideas on how to find it or troubleshoot it?

Neck Pickup Strangeness on my 330

The weirdest thing happened tonight...

I went to play my 330 in the middle position and noticed that the sound was extremely quiet and muffled. Twiddled the knobs a bit, but nothing changed until I got to the "blender" knob (sorry, I am sure there is a Ric lingo term for this, I'm just not aware ...

Ha ha ha...sorry guys. I can't help it. I just can't get used to Jetglo. I haven't seen many black jets...

It's a great guitar. It's got the 6 dot pickups instead of the two line pickups.

(now I'm just messing with ya)

I'm a big fan of the SHO. It's a super simple circuit that sounds GREAT, but it's more of a boost pedal than an overdrive - it hits the front end of a tube amp very hard. Sounds great though. The only negative is that it can sometimes be overly bright.

"PS What are overdrive pedals supposed to do,sound like an overdriven amp or help breakup your amp?"

Good question - depends on who you ask and what their use is.

As for my purposes, I'm trying to find a pedal that will allow me to get a nice distorted guitar sound at lower amp volumes. The ...

Wow guys, thanks for the replies!

"Nice setup, Jerry! I have a 330, too, and I've been lusting after a Club Royale for some time. Got any soundclips?"

I can HIGHLY recommend it. Mine is a '99 model with the SS rectifier, currently loaded with two Red Fangs. I bought this amp while waiting for ...

Best OD pedal for a Ric 330?

Anyone have any suggestions for this? I'm using a new Ric 330 and a TopHat Club Royale. When volume isn't an issue, I can get the CR loud enough to clip on its own, but when I have to play at lower volumes, I use an overdrive pedal. Most of the pedals I have are TS clones, which I'm not particularly ...

I've been thinking of putting a toaster in either both positions or just the neck position of my new 330 for a little while now. I was concerned about how well this combination would work out, but it seems like folks are already doing it. It also doesn't seem to be as much of a cost as I had ...
