Paul's Telecaster Esquire

And that's all I can think of off the top of my head without consulting "The Book"
Fixed that for you. Don't want you running out and getting the wrong guitar! :-)

The Esquire has no neck pickup.

Re: Opening Chord..Hard Day's Night

Hasn't everybody seen the youtube video of Randy Bachman describing going to Abbey Road Studios and getting to hear each track in isolation by George Martin's son, who now works there? It's a done deal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvxPc5MPEuQ Not a "done deal" for me: He says nothing a...

Paul said that it was NOT going on the album (was just a track he recorded) but Patti Boyd liked it and encouraged him to put it on.

Re: Paul McCartney playing with Nirvana

That said, Macca is horribly out-of-touch with "new" music (let's ignore that Nivana disbanded nearly 20 years ago..). He admitted freely that he didn't even recognize the other members of Nirvana while standing in the same room as them. I think Paul was just being "Paul, The Enterta...

Re: Beatles concert home movie with RICS.

Previously unseen footage of The Beatles playing an unscheduled gig during their first tour of America has been found lying in a drawer after 44 years. While the short article does not mention the location, the only unscheduled gig I ever read about was (I think) Kansas City. Story of the Beatles p...

Re: Is the bass in Something Drop D?

I have slowed it down and raised it up an octave. For some reason, the notes on the E string are noticeably out of tune and warble in pitch. It is, however, clearly standard (un-)tuning. The walk-down notes at the end of the bridge are:

C B A G F E (which really sounds like it is between Eb and E) C

Sorry, brammy, but I'm confused... April 2 is not the day after February 11. What's up?

His cherry SG went to Pete Ham of Badfinger. After Pete's death, did it make its way back to George?

...And George Carlin was on his best behaviour for his episodes. That might be true, but it was hard to disassociate his regular output from the kiddie material. Kind of like listening to Eminem do children's lullabies. Or watching Gene Simmons lecture on abstinence. Or reading a book by Pamela And...

Re: Groovy Beatles pictures

What was Ringo doing from 1984-1988, when he wasn't playing music? Telling stories for Thomas the Tank Engine ! Our kids were at the right age at that time, and we enjoyed watching Shining Time Station (as is was called in the U.S.) together. We could accept Ringo as The Conductor but were in for q...

Re: Groovy Beatles pictures

Jake, any info on that top, color photo of George playing the Tennessean? What strikes me as really odd is that he is wearing such dirty blue jeans, while Ringo is in suit and tie! I can't see Brian "allowing" him to perform dressed like this, and there seems to be quite an audience for a ...

Re: Groovy Beatles pictures

this last one is supposedly the first pix of John with his Casino.... note that the Bigsby hasn't been added yet I do not believe that John's ever had a Bigsby. Paul's and George's, yes. EDIT 1: The last photo looks like a '66 tour shot. Perhaps you meant that the second-to-last photo is supposedly...
