Re: Black Hardware Question
From what I understand, the black treated hardware is morely likely to break/crack than regular chrome hardware (don't ask me why... that is just what I remember reading here). However, you could probably spray paint a regular chrome tailpiece black (a mod which should be reversable using lacquer th...

Tom's use of a Rick double-neck for American Girl video
This might be old news to most Tom Petty fans but I just came across a video of the Heartbreakers playing "American Girl" on the show "Fridays". It looks like Tom is using a Jetglo 362/12. I know the song was originally recorded without a 12 string, but by the time this clip was ...

Re: Reacquired My 325v63 :)
I am glad you have your baby back ribs . :D I keep debating with myself whether I should buy back a bass I sold to a friend a few years ago. 4001-1200_0735.jpg Do it if you're in the position to do so. Agreed. I am still looking for my long-lost guitar and if I had the chance I would definitely buy...

Re: If I Could Change One Thing About My Rickenbacker ...
Oh - I had forgotten: on my 360-12, with a 24-fret neck, at that time RIC was still using the upper scratch plate with the 21-fret pickup placing, so it bumped against the pickup instead of outlining the frame of the pickup as it does on the bridge pickup. So I took my dremel and recontoured the up...

Re: If I Could Change One Thing About My Rickenbacker ...
I love the Accent vibrato I had installed on my 330LS, but I do wish it was easier to restring.

Wow, that white plastic on the pickguards sure has yellowed over time! Neat guitar though.

Run Run Rudolph by Luke Bryan
Admittedly not an example of a Rickenbacker "artist", but at least it is the appropriate time of year... If you watch the Luke Bryan music video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGaGbSQfAko) for Run Run Rudolph you can see what looks like a Mapleglo Rickenbacker 381 hanging on the studio ...

I have also read that Roger added the third pick-up because John Lennon's Rickbacker(s) all had 3 pickups, and Roger liked the look of that.

Re: Doing a "Fogerty mod" on a 325?
I say if you want a real Humbucker installed in your Rick, do it. But if you ever try to sell on this forum down the road, expect the hail to rain down. I love Fogerty (we have the same birthday) and would mod a 325 myself to be like his if I could. But I don't have a fireglow 325 with "F"...

Re: Stolen RIC in NYC!
You are probably correct. I do believe a 360v64 would have white binding on the edges of the body.
