When I purchased the bass back in '81, one of the large screws on the tuning machines - the ones that secure the gear to the tuner - had been replaced. The originals are slot head , a shop replaced it for me with a Fender Philips head screw. That always bothered me ...

truss rod cover screws
Hello,
I have '68 4005 - its in the registry :)
I don't know why I've never noticed, but one of the truss rod covers screws in not like the other 2.
I'm the original owner, and I don't recall every having the cover off. I did have it repaired a while back, maybe it was swapped then.
Anyhow ...

Re: Registry Transfer
I originally purchased it at Veneman's music in Rockville, Md. 30 March 1979. I still have the receipt, which is where I got the serial number.
Stolen years ago, I listed it as such with no expectations of ever finding it. It's like the lottery though - can't win if you don't even play.

Registry Transfer
I recently registered a bass, unfortunately wasn't logged in when I did.
Is it possible to transfer the entry to my user name? It's a 4001 serial number RL7318.
Appreciate the help!
