Cheers Peter, I've been reading all about tail-lift on this forum, so much valuable information on here. I'm looking forward to bringing the 4001 back up to it's best.

Thanks for the info and feedback guys; I will bend the tailpiece back to shape as I have a full engineering workshop at my disposal. I may even design a metal fixture for attaching and straightening tailpieces using a thumbscrew arrangement to slowly tweak the lift out. The pitting on the chrome ...
