Re: Newbie after his first RIC
Gorgeous! Congrats! 8) Thanks! I suspect that 325s of any type are not in abundance here so I think you've done well. They're not very easy to find, I've been looking in OZ for ages and just happened to find one. I bought it immediately after I found it online. Gotta say, I love it. Couldn't be hap...

That thing's as light as a feather, too, I bet!

Re: Newbie after his first RIC
OKAY so the day for me is finally here!!! I received my 325C58 a couple of hours ago, I'm finally home from work and have been checking it out. I'm over the moon with it, it's in beautiful condition and sounds amazing! The new tailpiece is on its way, so I'll change it once it shows up. Anyway, I th...

Re: Newbie after his first RIC
At first: strings can be a religion. Well, a lot of folks here - so me, too - swear by Thomastik Infeld flatwounds. They deliver a full and nice vintage sound, they last long, the feeling is good and the tension is quite low in comparison to other flats. The minimum gauge for the 325 is 012. If You...

Re: Newbie after his first RIC
You just need one part, the tailpiece itself! This one: http://boutique.rickenbacker.com/TAILPIECE-TRAPEZE-CHR_p_549.html The bracket is already on Your guitar! (If it is still original.) No joke: Plug and play! Just a few minutes for an exchange and a big improvement. Please be careful with the Ka...

Re: Newbie after his first RIC
When You want to play that thing, the Kauffman is the worst solution: It scratches the paint and it de-tunes the guitar even when You do not touch it. My advice: use a trapeze tailpiece. It fits to the bracket plug and play literally and allows to play Your guitar without drilling new holes. The Ka...

Newbie after his first RIC

I'm based in Sydney and looking to buy my first Ric :-) I'm originally a sax/piano player but the last 10 years I've been getting into guitars quite heavily. I'm a Beatles fan of course so it was only a matter of time before I ...
