I am new to this forum and enjoying it very much. I started a new thread about the very very earliest 4001 bass.
Some people believe that the oldest Rick 4001 with the 50's design scratchplate, could possible be a one off, a design study on the way to the more familiar layout.

Thanks, Bas. I won't be able to "sell" the book myself, but it will be available at bookstores and for ordering online at Amazon and other vendors. There will also be an electronic version I'm told. I'm looking forward to seeing it myself! Should be sometime in early 2013.
