Re: Would you have bought this 360/12 for $999?
Great score. I just sold my '73 Les Paul Custom which has been in the family since it was new and had the headstock snapped off and professionally repaired back in '75. It still played like silk when I sold it. ( Just seemed to be getting heavier over the years. ) A professionally repaired guitar sh...

Re: Sound for I wanna hold your hand ?
I read a really interesting book recently by the engineer from most of the Beatle albums, "Here, There, and Everywhere" by Geoff Emerick. In it he talks a lot about how they were experimenting with changing the sound via the recording process. Odd mics, overdriving the board, etc. One of t...

Re: 650F Bridge HB to Toaster Conversion
Here are the links! Thanks, Harry - on the samples with toaster in bridge, how much volume did you drain of the HB in neck? Or mixer knob setting? To get a good picture of what I'm hearing :D The 650 doesn't have the 5th knob so in order to blend the sound I had to roll the HB volume back about 1/3...

Re: George Harrison '63 360/12 (pics) @ Grammy Museum
Great pics. That is the guitar that started my love affair with the Ric. As a side note I remember my mother dressing my Dad, brother, and I in matching gold Neru jackets like the one in the picture for church one Sunday. All throughout the service we were getting the eyeball from the entire congreg...

Re: 650F Bridge HB to Toaster Conversion
Harry.....Since you're using a single coil pickup and a humbucker on the same guitar, I'm wondering if you experience a volume drop when running both pickups at the same time that can only be overcome by lowering the volume of either pickup? Yes no question the HB has more volume. To blend the soun...

650F Bridge HB to Toaster Conversion
Finally got my system back together ( well most of it ) and had time to record a couple of quick samples change out the bridge pickup and record another set of samples. I just used a VERY simple progression over and over again, but I wanted the focus on the sound not what I was playing. These are re...

Quick Toaster Question
I am dying to replace my Hi Gain with the new toaster I purchased on my 650F, however it is going to be a while before I can get the Toaster cover gold plated to match the rest of the Ric. It looks like the actual Toaster pickup will fit inside the cover for the Hi-Gain. My question, will it change ...

Re: What Model would you buy for your second Ric?
...I have a new Toaster pickup sitting on the desk in front of me and plan to install that this weekend. First I plan to record some playing with the stock HB1 and then I will switch out the bridge pup and record that so everyone can judge for themselves. ... -H Oh, please! There is going to be a s...

Re: What Model would you buy for your second Ric?
John, I really love my 650F it is a dream to play and for many years it has been my main heavy lead axe. I actually prefer the 650 on the neck pickup to the Strat or Les Paul for lead work. Oh and the fingerboard is wicked fast. Interestingly enough it wasn't until recently that I began trying to ge...

Re: What Model would you buy for your second Ric?
I have a 650F now that I love to play, and so my next Ric will be a 12 string and I am leaning toward the 660 either in blue or Jetglo. I did get a chance to play a couple of 360/12s and while the narrow neck made me work a little harder to play clean chord forms, I think that I could learn to love ...
