I had one and really enjoyed it. I called it my Rickencaster. Really great sounding pickups. You can find them for well under a grand, and well worth it.

Yep, and that's only one reason I like 'em. I've always used tens on my full scale ricks.

I tune my 12-strings to full pitch. If using a capo distorts your tuning, then perhaps your nut needs adjustment. I would guess the slots aren't deep enough and the strings are too high at the nut.

Bear in mind that there are two configurations of the bowtie, for wound and for plain G string. The one that Dan has linked to is for a wound G.
