Re: An introduction

Alright I just had to look through some old pictures, I found this one of my '79, not figured but a great player for sure. I can't believe I only have 1 picture of each of them, the older late 60's to early 70's is in my avatar. Oh yeah and it was Halloween in the picture in case somebody was thinki...

Re: An introduction

I'm starting to figure out coming in here might have been a bad financial move! :) While I love the look of the 4004, and the figure is insane, I'm still a sucker for 4001 sorry to say. And the dual steels are just incredible too. Blown away, just awesome though. And yet another damn goes out for an...

Re: A quick feeler!?

Well I'll chime in, since I think that should be bound fingerboard, that will raise the cost a bit.
I would guess starting at about $200 + US for a quality job. Sorry I forgot to add the US as I forget sometimes this is such and international forum.:)

Re: An introduction

Alright now this is starting to feel like abuse! :) So many incredible Maples, they are indeed my favorite. I was wondering where all those figures were from, never seen any stock Rick with that heavy figuring. But then again maybe the stores have collectors on staff that don't even let those hit th...

Re: An introduction

Holy Mackeral,
And a chocolate backside, wow that's amazing. That has to be the most figured top I've ever seen on a Rick.
Thanks for sharing those pics.

Re: Assessing a pickup out of a bass

Thanks for the reply and info.
So can I assume that 9.39k is an acceptable reading or no?
Thanks again,

Assessing a pickup out of a bass

Hello everyone, again I have to say what a remarkable resource this place is, with that I have a question to pose the tech savvy members. I have a digital multimeter and I'd like to see if an old pickup is working. It's my assumption that I just set it to ohms, zero it by touching the leads together...

Or should I say my wallet is getting scared!

I will admit CJ that the top of the Rick in your avatar has fantastic figuring.

An introduction

Hello, Just joined today, not sure I know all the proper Ricknettiquette, but here's an introduction in any case. So apologies if I do anything incorrectly. I was pointed here from the TalkBass forums, which I have been a member of for several years. A little brief Rickstory from me. I'm a former Ri...
