It's amazing how instruments that seem to be nearly identical can be so different.
A fretless was high on my list of basses to get next, but I rarely play anymore and just can't justify it.
All my fun money is getting saved for an old (or clone) tweed fender amp now.

Thanks. I'm pretty much retired from gigging. Just play guitar at home now.

That has been my experience, too.Even unamplified a Fender sounds like a Fender and a Ric sounds like a Ric.

Sadly, my bass gear mostly collects dust or is a staging area for folded laundry, these days.
My Ampeg B-15R hasn't had it's cover off in a couple of years.

A long time member of this forum owns that bass. Though, I haven't seen him post in a long time. As to the OP's question: your Rick is made almos...

That looks amazing!rickenbrother wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 12:39 pm I'll leave it here anyway. It played and sounded very nice. It has a wide range of tones. Being so close to the bridge, the treble pickup is very growly. i'd like to put a pickup that close to the bridge on my other Ricks, like a 4002 or 4004LK.
