can one ''Vintage out'' a 330?

Post by suedehead71 »

i have a newly acquired lefty 330 in a great firelgo. has toaster tops and trapeze tailpiece. SO...was wondering in your esteemed opinions, is switching out the stock schaller tuners for vintage-style rick tuners a good idea? will they even work in the slots made for schallers? i know a second screw would be required, so there would be drilling. i dunno, figured i'd ask before i did anything, but yeah, black knobs and vintage tuners would be the next step for me...

You can put vintage tuners on the headstock, but the holes are larger on the schallers, so you would have to use conversion bushings (available at allparts). Yes, you'd have to drill the headstock.

You can "vintage" them out a bit....but, really....you can't change the 24 frets, so what's the point? I'd throw some black knobs on and call it a day.

Are they just Toaster "tops" on High Gains or are they Toaster pickups with alnico magnets ?

What's the point Collin?

I kind of like mine the way it looks now.........it came with vintage tuners, the smaller vintage looking headstock, white plastic, stock knobs and HB-1's.

I added gold plastic, oven knobs and toaster covers.
