what .009 strings are closest to Rick compressed strings?

Post by RickBass9 »

I like the Rickenbacker compressed strings on my 625. but I'd really like to try an 009 set for a bit more flexibility. What do you all reckon would be the closest substitute?

None of them. The now discontinued compressed strings were 10's, not 9's. Any pressurewound set is close. But remember, even Mr. JH threw in the towel in favor of a conventional 10-46 set.

I use regular Ernie Ball Slinkys (.10-.46) on all of my Rick six-strings and love them. I imagine their .09 sets would be great, too.

Maybe GHS Nickel Rockers? They have a pure nickel wrap, which is then compressed with rollers.
