I'm having Frank machine a bezel for an HB1 and he's asking for the "pickup opening dimensions" which I assume is this bit.
Anyone able to shoot me a quick measurement I can pass on?

Re: Request - HB1 humbucker infos
Using digital calipers, the opening from the top is .85" wide, and length is 2.39" in the middle of the surround, and 2.28" on the edges.
Inside the surround, it's 1.04 " wide, 2.82" long.
Using the lines in your pic, we're talking 1.11" x 2.88".

Furthur to this...
Do I need to grab a mounting plate or pad as well or does it come included when I grab the HB1 direct? It'll be going in a 4000.

Re: Request - HB1 humbucker infos
It does not come with any sort of mounting plate but depending on how old your bass is, there may already be two holes in the plate right where you want them to screw the HB-1 down onto it. If not, you can drill the two holes yourself, easily, just need a drill and an appropriate size drill bit, which you can figure out (I would hope). Also you will need to buy the appropriate sized mounting hardware (two each - screws, washers, nuts - all stainless steel) from your local hardware store. If your mounting plate is plastic/ABS, no insulating pad should be required; if it is aluminum, put something/anything, non-conducting, between it and the pickup.LBx wrote:Furthur to this...
