No, but unfortunately, neither is his asking price.

Is that fretboard right? I think I see a number of red flags about this one (aside from the ridiculous asking price). :(

There is something about the fretboard. The layout of the inlays as well as the tapered end.

Should the finish be that sparkly?

"I was told by at least 3 well known guitar dealers that this is the original finish, as I am not able to tell if this is original or not."

Hmmm...

It's not the FB as much as the sparkly paint job on a guitar that was apparently rare Turquoise originally, the so-so condition in general, and all the nonsense speculaation about it being "possibly assembled by Semie Mosely"...etc. I wonder if maybe Rossmeisl sneezed on it?

Anyway, seller seems to be pulling out all the hyperbolic stops in order to hype this rare but abused Rick.

The paint job is definitely not original (Metalflake wasn't even invented until several years after this was built, and required special guns to spray it back then.)

Oh, and I don't think the fretboard is original, either. It's had a zero fret installed.

Didn't even think about the sparkly paint job. However, I think the case is all to original, other than the handle. :D

I think so. Here's a compare frrom another Combo 800. This may be one of the few "correct" things about the guitar.

The 3 dots on the fretboard should only be at the 12th fret. Also the back of the body should be hollowed out with a plastic or fiberboard cover that is affixed by multiple screws around the perimeter.

It should also have a "long" jackplate/strap button assEMBLY with the serial # stamped on it, like this:

The bridge was "waxed"? It's not shown. Maybe it's sleeping with the fishes . . .

That price is way to high - Even if it was all original.
Ka is a wheel.
