Heat treating

Post by Kiddwad57 »

Hello all. I'm interested in the heat treating repairs of twisted Rickenbacker bass and/or guitar necks. In doing an easy search through the threads here I found some posts from the early 2000s. It seems that folks at the time did have successes with this type of repair. There was a tally on another board that indicated a fifty-fifty success rate. My question is whether these repairs have stood the test of time.

FWIW, I had the neck on my currently stolen 331LS heat-treated because it had been left unstrung for many years before I bought it and had a back-bow rather than a twist issue. Worked fine for that problem.

Still amazed that one hasn't turned up Gary. It's really only a matter of time. Can't hide a guitar like that for long, and yours is unique.
