The shop advised that my 360/12 won't be ready until Tuesday so I'll be showing up empty-handed, unfortunately. I still plan to head down after the Giants game, so I'll see everyone later in the afternoon.

I won't be able to make it either, the 7,000 mile "drive" across the Pacific is just a bit much right now. :(

Hopefully, someone will take a lot of pictures so that those of us who can't make it can at least see what we missed...

Have a great time!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Put an extra sail on your amphibious car. If you set out now, you'll be here for NAMM.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Anybody remember seeing those itty bitty coat closets on a Boeing 737. Perfect size for stashing a Rickenbacker.

BARC 2016 -- Bay Area Rickenbacker Confluence

Post by 8mileshigher »

We had an enjoyable BARC gathering today at Guitar Showcase in San Jose ! Many thanks to 8) Richard, the owner of Guitar Showcase and the staff. They are a great Rickenbacker dealer with a good inventory of new models on sale and some historical Rics on display too --- including a couple of Frying Pan models and several Bakelite Steels from the 1930's and 40's, and other cool Rics from the 60's and 70's.

A big round of applause to Doug F for coordinating BARC and making the splendid arrangements !! And Richard B (wmthor) gets our recognition for attending BARC from Texas ! We enjoyed having newcomer Kaycee help out on piano and bass and Dan did a great job on lead vocals and bass - and once Dan tried Gareth's Chris Squire model, he never let it go !! Special thanks to Dave for sitting in on drums all afternoon and for making the trek up from Hollister ! It was great to have these new BARCers join the fun today ! And thanks to everyone who brought all their cool Rics to display and jam !!

Here's pictures from today ----

Hi Rich - I'm glad you made it home safely. I got there a little after 5, and I heard that I missed you by about a half hour. I even left the Giants game early, but I underestimated how long it would take to get from SF to SJ. I was able to meet Doug and Rich as they were packing up their gear. I'm glad you and the other folks there had a good time.

I look forward to attending next year with my 360/12 in hand. Even though I missed the event, I wanted to thank everyone who coordinated and attended. This is a really cool thing.
