Re: RIC bass amp head
Rickenbacker hasn't made amps since the late 60's, and the only head I know of that they made was the solid state Transsonic. A good example of the sound of those would be Steppenwolf from that era.

Re: RIC bass amp head
I don't know as I have never played either one. Both are very rare. I believe a lot of Steppenwolf's vintage stuff was Trans Sonics, but this is just from what I have heard and read in the past. Rickenbacker was never known for their amps, and the Trans Sonic is the only one that really got any sort of notoriety and they were super expensive back in the day so they are very rare now.rickomania1970 wrote:what are the opinions about transonic and b-22 ?

Re: RIC bass amp head
Rickenbacker made the old Road 440 bass amps. They weren't bad.
They had a small bottom with a 18-inch driver - I had one. The cabinet was way too small for the driver, so it didn't go down as far as it could have.
Very rugged stuff.

I have both. The B-22 sounds really good with bass, the Transonic sounds better with guitar.
If you click on the link below and play the songs on the right side of the page, you'll hear my bass parts as played through a B-22 head and cabinet.
