Oscilloscope anyone?

Post by chrisdski »

Interested in a low end model, maybe usb model that uses a PC. Anyone have experience with oscilloscopes in regards to solid state amp repair? What to look for in features/specs?

I mainly do tube amp repairs at home and have a 100 MHz dual trace scope that is overkill for that. For solid state audio repairs, a 100 MHz would probably be fine too. Tektronix scopes are nice because they have a bright trace compared to lots of other scopes. You can find used scopes like what I mentioned around at ham fests and CL, and there is stuff on ebay too and it doesn't cost a bunch...under $300 for almost all of them. I don't know anything about the USB ones that use a PC, so sorry, can't help you there.
