Don't be sorry you brought it up. I'm looking forward to the completion of your 4004L5

Some of the more interesting topics and analysis on the Forum are developed by our RRF bassist's community :!: :!: I've learned a lot about instrument repair and stuff, just from reading you guys insightful comments... and all your knowledge about the engineering that goes into these conversions, and nut filings, magnetic fields, etc. Pretty cool stuff :)

I've always wondered what's the exact string spacing (near the bridge) on these basses. Could someone please enlighten me? thanks!

It's not exact because the bridges have user adjustable roller saddles , so like the 4 string Cii's, the player can adjust the width to his/her liking.

Thanks! and what should this range be? It doesn't look any near like 19mm on photos, so what should be the max. spacing without strings fall off the fretboard? Thanks again

After having checked one out a couple weeks ago I'd say the range is ~ 17mm-19mm/string.

The replacement Hipshot bridge I got for the Cii/5 was 18mm and fit perfectly.

Thank you Brian. That TG is the bass that I'll try to get sooner or later ;)

Ironically enough, a former member of this forum has just acquired the aforementioned TG 4004Cii-5, reuniting the original body with the original pickups. Hope it goes well :)

Yes, I've been watching that sale. Once I gather enough dough, I'll definitely contact him.
