Brian, have you considered a new fret board in the "aircraft carrier" style of design? I've seen such a mod and wondered if it was a bad idea or if it could let you save your neck section ...

Not really my cup-o-tea Kira. If I need a 5-er in the future I think I'll just hunt down another Wal but for now I'll just string my Blackened Laredo BEAD and call it a day.

Man I'd be all over a 4004Cii/5 if they ever started making them again. I'm still kicking myself for not having the store order one for me when they were in production.

Why, so you can reroute the body and replace the pickups? I've played three of these and every single one of them had weak B string and usually G string response. Especially on the bridge pickup. To clarify, that statement applies to the original C5's, and not what RIC will eventualy replace it with.

Perhaps wishfull thinking on my part it probably is a good thing I didn't get an original really and your point is well taken.

That said would you mind a PM on a somewhat related subject?

I'm looking forward to soon make a vid with my Trans Red Cii/5 just to show everyone that they didn't ALL have a poor B & G string response.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Well, I certainly appreciate everyone's stoic patience!
Being in bands takes up all my musical time. The trans red Cii/5 usually resides at one of my bands studios so I don't have to go back and forth with a 5 string.
I guess I should just take some video when I'm playing it in a song.

Yes sir! I liked the way it sounded...when it worked. It's too delicate to handle gigging, Even though the pedalboard it was on is in an enclosed case. I got tired of fixing it. Now I have a Darkglass Hyperluminal. It works really great to compress the sound when you lay it on the strings. I had to post that before Jeffrey did! :P

I sold mine to Rhys Chandler, not sure if he still has it. The last compressor I've owned was the Universal Audio LA-610 Mk II that another forumite bought from me about ten years ago.
